“I just heard Luke Rockhold is coming back in February or March, and that’s when I’m planning to fight. I’m going to take a break. It’s too soon for me to fight now. I’m not going to fight anytime sooner, I am going to take my break, and hopefully March. Nothing confirmed,” said Mousasi about next possible bout on Monday’s edition of the MMA Hour.
Luke Rockhold was forced out of his UFC 101 fight against Ronaldo Jacare Souza, due to a knee injury that left him no choice but to withdraw. Mousasi has already fought Souza twice, with the fighters splitting the points each time. When asked about a rematch, Mousasi said it wasn’t yet time for that.
With Yoel Romero looking to challenge Middleweight champion Michael Bisping after he knocked out Chris Weidman, Mousasi is looking for a shot at the winner of Bisping-Romero for the Middleweight Championship as well.
