The El Comercio report claims Fedotov started firing his weapon at the robbers as they fled the scene, while another report said he only started firing after the robbers fired their guns. One witness said more than 15 shots went off.
One robber died outside the restaurant, while Fedotov and another female patron are expected to recover from gunshot wounds.
