“You know, I still consider Jon Jones. It’s time to start talking about Kamaru Usman, you know?" White said at the UFC 277 post-fight press conference. “He’s one fight away from tying Anderson Silva. He already beat Jon Jones and GSP. And in his next fight if he beats Leon Edwards, he ties Anderson Silva. So, yeah he’s in the discussion.”
Usman has already faced Edwards before. Back in 2015, Usman won via unanimous decision. Since then, Usman has won 13 in a row. After beating Tyron Woodley for the title, Usman has defended the belt against Colby Covington (twice), Jorge Masvidal (twice), and Gilbert Burns.
Edwards has gone 9-0 with one no-contest since his first go-around with Usman. His last fight was a unanimous decision win over Nate Diaz.
